MTU Maintenance Hannover, Langenhagen, Germany
The Langenhagen facility is the centerpiece of the MTU Maintenance group. It is responsible for the maintenance of medium- and large-size commercial engines. These include the General Electric CF6-50 and CF6-80C2, Pratt & Whitney PW2000, International Aero Engines V2500 and CFMI CFM56-7. Comprehensive service offerings complement the company’s line, such as engine leasing, 24-hour AOG service, training and Total Engine Care. The location is MTU’s center of excellence for high-tech repairs and is busy developing novel repair techniques.
MTU Maintenance Hannover additionally operates a line for the final assembly, on an exclusive basis, of the PW6000 engine powering the A318. For the purpose, the company in 2006 obtained production organization approval from the LBA German Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics. The location will also be responsible for all future maintenance activities for that engine.
